We are delighted to present the APA Art and Antiques Fair, which runs from 13-18 November at the National Society of Fine Arts. In this way, we saw the absence of a reference fair in the most central area of Lisbon, guaranteeing at the same time the quality that APA has accustomed us to for 30 years. Like Cordoaria Fair, the new edition of APA Fair has an independent expert team that previously analyzes and vetoes the pieces on display, ensuring their authenticity and quality.
Although smaller than the fair we will continue to organize annually in the emblematic space of the National Cordoaria, this new challenge was immediately accepted by our associates who enthusiastically embraced it. We hope to launch in Portugal a new dynamic of antiques and contemporary art fairs, which value both antiquariat and heritage, also supporting a discussion platform about what has been done, and doing in Portugal in these areas and establishing synergies between museums, knowledgeable or initiated audience, collectors, aesthetes and curious in general.
We thank His Excellency the President of the Republic, Professor Doctor Marcelo Rebelo de Sousa, his High Patronage who honors us very much, and the National Society of Fine Arts for the opportunity and trust placed in us, as this is the beginning of a long partnership.
We also have the collaboration of the National Museum of Ethnology and, as usual, the National Museum of Ancient Art. We believe in the broad dialogue between the antiquariat and the museological universe, since both have unique and valuable qualities for the other, because only together will we be able to advance in the knowledge of both national and international artistic heritage.
To the City Council of Lisbon and the Tourism of Lisbon a special thanks for their always fundamental support for the success of this event.
Horta Osório Wines will also be present, continuing a partnership that began many years ago, and which we cherish.
All those who visit us at the National Society of Fine Arts will have the opportunity to get in touch with the best and most reputed Portuguese antique dealers, to closely appreciate their works of art, to observe them, to exchange views on them and eventually to acquire them. The antique dealer is essentially an enthusiast and a scholar who is happy to share his knowledge, exchange opinions and stories and learn.
Designed for new audiences and a new and always surprising Lisbon, we have also opted for a time that will allow for greater flexibility.
We count on you from Wednesday to Friday from 16h to 21h, Saturday from 14h-21h and Sunday from 12h to 19h.
